Hello Hornets Families,We are excited to announce that we are back on the ice!
Effective Monday January 31st we have been cleared to resume our hockey programming.
Please check our website for the online schedule to confirm your player’s next ice time.
Your team managers/coaches may also be reaching out to you soon, to let you know about any changes to your schedules, what to expect for the remainder of the season and any other team related information. We ask that you please read this email in its entirety as there is some very important return to play changes at the facility.
1. Please see attached the updated ANCC Protocols that go into effect on Monday January 31st when the ANCC re-opens. The main changes to these protocols are highlighted in yellow. Document
2. Enhanced vaccine certificates with QR codes
Any Individual age 12+ looking to enter the facility must present an enhanced vaccine certificate with a QR code prior to entry. The QR Code will be scanned by using the Verify Ontario app. The enhanced vaccine certificate is a more secure and convenient way to have your proof of vaccination verified. Vaccine receipts without a QR code are no longer accepted.
This means that entry will be refused to anyone that does not have a QR code. Additionally, a doctor’s note is no longer acceptable for exemptions. If there is a valid exemption for the patron or athlete, that data will be embedded into the QR code so that when it is scanned, they will still get the green check mark.
Please download your Vaccine QR codes before you head to the arena to avoid doing so while you are in line waiting to enter your facility.
3. Effective 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2022, upon entry to the facility, all persons born in 2010 shall be granted a grace period of 12 weeks from their 12th birthday during which they must provide identification at the point of entry, but do not need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This is to allow a reasonable opportunity for their series of vaccination to be completed. (Example a 2010 born on January 1st would have to start showing their POV on March 27th).
We are happy to welcome our Hornets back to the rink and to the game they love!
We ask that if your player is not well or showing any COVID symptoms - please advise your coach/manager and please stay home. Let’s all work together to keep everyone healthy and safe, so that we can keep playing!
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out at any time. We hope you are as excited as we are to get back on the ice!
