Hello Hornet Families,

We hope this finds you all safe and healthy.

It’s time to get prepared for our next season. As always, a new season brings with it new challenges and changes. We ask that you read this email in its entirety and we hope we have answered all your questions.

REGISTRATION OPENS JUNE 3rd for the 2024/25 Hockey Season

After much discussion we are happy to share that there will be NO increase in registration fees for this season.

We have some great fundraising initiatives planned for the coming season that we hope you will support and enjoy! Our 24th Annual Golf Tournament is scheduled for June 15th, so put together some friends and enjoy a fun afternoon on the course.

We will again be hosting the Peterborough Petes for a Pre-Season game early in September in Norwood. Date to be announced soon. Tickets to go on sale mid August. This is the last year of our 3 year commitment to the Petes. Stay tuned for more details to come.

Legacy Fund Subsidies have come to an end. This program has been in place for the past 5 seasons and was made possible by 3 donors who very graciously donated $5000 each and made a 5 year commitment to assist our youngest programs Mites - U9.

The mission of the fund has continued to evolve and will always support the mandate of ensuring that all youth have the opportunity to participate in the sport of hockey. Minor hockey costs are growing every year and it is important for our members to feel comfortable coming forward if they need help.  This information is always held in confidence.  Should financial circumstances become a barrier for a child’s involvement, the Legacy Fund is one of the options to try to provide support to local families.

Also for consideration:

Canadian Tire Jumpstart - is a registered charity that helps financially disadvantaged families across Canada. The JUMPSTART program helps kids get involved in organized sports and recreational activities. FOR MORE INFORMATION: jumpstart.canadiantire.ca OR call 705-748-9642 County of Peterborough Residents.

Hockey Canada Assist Fund – was created in response to the many families experiencing financial challenges. The goal of the Fund is to help Canadian youth access hockey and play the game they love. The Assist Fund will provide up to $500 per player in registration fee subsidies to approved applicants who are registered with a Hockey Canada-sanctioned association. FOR MORE INFORMATION:
