Hello Hornet Families,
We hope this finds you all safe and healthy.
It’s time to get prepared for our next season. As always, a new season brings with it some challenges and changes. We ask that you read this email in its entirety and we hope we have answered all your questions.
After much discussion and debate, there will be a minimal increase in registration fees by $50 this season.
We also have some great fundraising initiatives planned for the coming season that we hope you will support and enjoy! Annual Golf Tournament June 17th, Comedy Show in August just to name a few.
SAVE THE DATE – We will again be hosting the Peterborough Petes for a Pre-Season game Friday Sept 22 in Norwood vs the Kingston Frontenacs. Tickets to go on sale mid August. Stay tuned for more details to come.
NEW THIS SEASON - $60 Tryout Fee for all players trying out for a REP team. When you register you and add this fee to your cart to get signed up. Fee must be received before stepping on the ice for tryouts. Players will be guaranteed 3 skates.
REP PLAYERS ONLY – There will be a fee for ALL players who make a REP team (U9MD-U18). This fee of $125, is in addition to the regular registration fee and is to accommodate for additional ice time.
At this time, we want to advise all families upfront that it is very likely that we will be booking additional ice at neighbouring centres (IE: Havelock) for both practices and games throughout the season– all teams.

Mites – U9 Home Center Subsidies: Due to the generosity of 3 anonymous donors who made a 5-year commitment to assist in making hockey feasible for our younger divisions, we offer a HOME CENTER discount to our families: Mites – U9. This subsidy is applied to those players who consider NORWOOD their home REP center ONLY. If you are unsure or need to confirm please reach out to our treasurer LIZ BEFORE registering. It is hard to make a change after you have processed a registration so reaching out in advance is appreciated. Email: [email protected]
If you want to support Norwood Minor Hockey, you can donate to the Legacy Fund to keep this initiative going for our youngest players. Additionally, if you don’t want to use the Legacy fund in favour of paying full registration rates to support Norwood Minor Hockey in continuing to build this fund, please choose the non-home center subsidy rate and let our Treasurer Liz know.
Anyone requiring assistance with registration or making payments is asked to please reach out in writing to our Treasurer Liz Hilts [email protected]
Limited Registration Subsidies are available for families who need assistance with the cost of hockey registration. For more information, please check the list of subsidies available on our website under the registration tab or please contact President Ryan Post [email protected]
