NDMS Legacy Assitance Fund (Norwood Minor Hockey)

PrintNDMS Legacy Assitance Fund
Norwood Minor Sports Legacy Fund was started to ensure that young people in the
community can continue to play organized sports for many years to come at an
affordable price and ensuring the best possible training and development that is
available.

Five years ago, a small group of anonymous philanthropists in the community made a
commitment to Norwood Minor Sports to donate $5000 per year for five years to offset
the registration costs of the youngest players in the organization. The idea was to
encourage and enable Norwood and area families to sign up locally and give their young
athletes the experience of playing hockey.

As a result, Norwood Minor Hockey created the Norwood Minor Sports Legacy Fund.
The mission of the fund has continued to evolve but will always support the mandate of
ensuring that all youth have the opportunity to participate in the sport of hockey.
Minor
hockey costs are growing every year and it is important for our members to feel
comfortable coming forward if they need help. This information is always held in
confidence. Should financial circumstances become a barrier for a child’s involvement,
the Legacy Fund is an option to try to provide support to local families.
