Norwood Minor Sports is looking to hire a mature, dedicated, well spoken, detail oriented individual for the position of Tournament Liason. The position is responsible for ensuring all aspects of the NDMS hosted tournaments are executed properly on the event days with attention to detail, and respect for officials, coaches and players. This person will be required to be available for all tournament dates which include:
Nov 2 & 3, 2024, Dec 7 & 8, 2024, Jan 18 & 19, 2025, Feb 1 & 2, 2025, Mar 1 & 2, 2025
HOURS (an estimate as will depend on tournament schedules)
Saturday 8am - 8pm
Sunday 8am - 7pm
Required skills and Duties:
- Ability to use an i-pad for the official game sheet stats and recording
- Strong communication skills to effectively work with coaches, referees, timekeepers and fans
- Problem solving skills to ensure any on and off ice issues are resolved professionally and according to the policies of NDMS and the league
- Be the point person for all teams checking in for tournaments and during the weekend. As well as for referees and timekeepers.
- Be available to answer questions
- Update stats and points for teams after each game
- Arriving in advance of the game to ensure ipad’s are set up and staying after the game until the game sheet has been uploaded
- Representing Norwood Minor Sports in all interactions with arena staff, visiting teams, parents and coaches and all NDMS players, coaches and volunteers
- Other duties as assigned by the Tournament Coordinator and executive
Qualifications:
- Must be 19 years of age or older
- Ability to work all Tournament dates for the 2024/25 season. Saturday (up to 12 hours) and Sunday (up to 10 hours) for a total of 20-24 hours in a weekend.
- Familiarity with the rules of hockey
- Customer Service experience
- Ability to work in high pressure situations
