Norwood Minor Sports is looking to hire a small group of mature, dedicated, detailed orientated individuals for the position of Official Game Timekeepers.
The Official Timekeeper position is responsible for ensuring all aspects of scorekeeping for Norwood Hornets games are executed properly with attention to detail, and respect for officials, coaches and players.
Required skills and Duties:
- Ability to use an i-pad for the official game sheet
- Use the time clock to accurately stop/start the clock, add goals, penalties, and change periods
- Play age appropriate and upbeat music before and after the game and between whistles
- Laser focus on game play in order to stop and start time appropriately
- Public Speaking Ability for speaking on the public announcement system to announce game details
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Strong communication skills to effectively work with referees and coaches
- Problem Solving skills to ensure on and off ice problems are resolved professionally and according to the policies of NDMS and the league
- Arriving in advance of the game to ensure ipad’s are set up and staying after the game until the game sheet has been uploaded
- Representing Norwood Minor Sports in all interactions with arena staff, visiting teams, parents and coaches and all NDMS players, coaches and volunteers
- Other duties as assigned by the Timekeeper Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Must be 15 years of age or older
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays etc.
- Customer Service experience
- Ability to work in high pressure situations
- Responsible and Dependable
- Team Player
- Strong Problem solver
- Strong Work Ethic
- Familiarity with the rules of hockey
- Previous timekeeping experience is an asset, but not required
