To our NDMS Players and Families,
These are unprecedented times and due to the current global pandemic we are having to take unprecedented measures to plan for our next season. At this time, the 2019-20 executive have approved a motion that will have the current executive stay on and start the planning for our next season of hockey.
Our OMHA regional member has been of this notified of this decision.
Our annual general meeting and the election for our next executive will take place when the government and health authorities have given us the approval to gather in group settings. They have allowed for all postponed meetings to be scheduled within 90 days of the ban being lifted. Notification of AGM will be posted on our website, Facebook and sent to our membership once a date is determined.
In the mean time, our existing executive will continue to meet using virtual tools to ensure that the organization is ready for next year.

[email protected]) to indicate your interest in an executive position for next year. It would be great to have new volunteers out to support our executive committee.
Please note that our Annual Meeting, our Awards Day, our Volunteer Appreciation Event and our In-Person Registration Events are all postponed until further notice.

Accepting Nominations for Special Awards:
Dale Ryan Memorial Award - Presented annually to an individual judged to be "the Athlete of the year for the Norwood area. Created in 1984 in memory of longtime executive member Dale Ryan. The award has covered a wide range of sports in the Norwood area ranging from hockey, figure skating, speed skating, softball, football, owing and auto racing)
Norwood Minor Sports Honor Award - The aim of the award is to recognize individuals who have committed in the past and continue to support Norwood Minor Hockey in various roles be it team staff, press coverage, executive duties, fundraising etc. The award takes into account not just hockey contributions but also contributions to other sports in the community
Please check out our website for more information about each of these awards and then submit your nomination to Greg and Jennifer (emails listed above). Nominations should include a write up about the individuals accomplishments and the reason they are deserving of the award.
These will also be handed out when this years awards ceremony is rescheduled.
And finally we encourage all our players to be spending their down time practicing their shots and getting ready for next years hockey season!
