NDMS hosted their Annual Golf Tournament on June 17th at the Oakland Greens Golf and Country Club with great success.
There was a threat of rain early in the day but luckily it held off for the 54 golfers who enjoyed a fun round of golf and delicious dinner.
Not only did minor hockey have the golfers helping to raise funds for this season but 3 NDMS Hornet players , Silas Faux, Hudson Buchanan and Lawson Heffernan helped out by running a lemonade and brownie stand on the 10th hole.
Congratulations to the first place team this year of Jeremy Heffernan, Nic Buchanan, Rob Buchanan and Garry Downer.
The putting contest came down to a dramatic putt off between Matt Walsh and Tim Klompmaker who were tied, but in the putt off Matt came through.
A very successful day for NDMS with $2,152.00 raised and a fun day for all as everyone left with a prize.
A big part of the tournament success always is due to our sponsors who assist us with prizes. This years sponsors included Mike Heffernan ( Bowes & Cocks ) , Jason Heffernan ( Bowes & Cocks ), J.J. Stewarts Motors, Woody Burger, Gotta Havva Pizza, Home Hardware, Jason Begg ( Park Place Financial ) and AKA Agencies.
Also a big thank you to Dan and Jen Heffernan for all their efforts in coordinating our tournament. They are already thinking about and planning next years tournament and are hopeful more Minor Hockey supporters join in and play.
